If you’re new here because of my dad Waltah, hi. 😂 This post is a little more representative of what you’re going to get around here. Working mom life. Lots of travel, including writing this from the airport on my way to Newark for work. ✈️ Supporting small businesses I love. And plenty of real life and memories with my three kiddos. Which brings me to these steps. 🥹 We bought our house seven years ago, and I think about how much life has happened right here. First days of school, birthdays, holidays, family pictures, kids growing up, and a whole lot of everyday life in between. Feeling extra grateful for this home, all the memories we’ve made here, and the fact that we’re heading into my absolute favorite season. 🍂 And @frontdoorfestive understood the assignment. 🎃👏 Sofya transformed our front steps for fall, and I’m obsessed. Supporting local businesses is one of my favorite things to share here, especially when the result looks like THIS. New England really knows how to show off in October. 🍁 ✨ Spent the day at Berkshire East with the kids and JWow, and honestly, what a day! Mountain coasters, chairlift rides, climbing through trees, falling while getting off the chair lift (I wish I was kidding 😂) and the most beautiful fall foliage. October in New England is hard to beat. And getting to spend days like this with my favorite people makes me love this season even more. Especially before I pack up and head out on another work trip tomorrow! A day for the memory books. Well, Boston. Apparently, you’re not quite ready to let Walter go. 😂❤️ Since finding out my dad wouldn’t be advancing in the Voice of Logan competition, the outpouring of support has been absolutely unbelievable. Hundreds of comments across social media, calls for him to be a write-in candidate, and so many kind words about a Boston guy who never expected any of this attention. So I sat down with my dad to talk about the reaction, his age, and what might be next for Walter from Boston. 👀 While his Voice of Logan journey has come to an end, we wish all the finalists the best of luck! And to everyone who has been cheering him on, thank you. You’ve made this experience something neither of us will ever forget. 25 years ago, I met a guy in an a cappella group at Boston College who had absolutely no idea what he was getting himself into. 😂 All these years later, we’ve built a life with three incredible kids, two demanding careers, and more memories than I ever dreamed of. And while life looks a whole lot different than I pictured at 18, I wouldn’t trade any of it. Thank you for loving me through every version of myself, for always believing in me, and for making our family life so much fun. Happy birthday, @ckim1189 ❤️ P.S. Well, this isn’t the Voice of Logan update I was hoping to share. 🥹 My dad, @waltahfromboston , found out today that despite making the semifinals, he won’t be advancing to the final round of the Voice of Boston Logan competition. And I have to say, I’m pretty shocked. A lifelong Bostonian. A double @bostoncollege Eagle. A U.S. Army Captain. A three-time @teambaa finisher. A man who spent his entire career as a sales executive flying in and out of @flylogan . And then there’s the incredible amount of public support he’s received over the past few weeks! Thousands of you cheering him on, sharing his audition, and telling us how much you’d love to hear his voice welcoming you home to Boston. 🥹 So yes, I’m surprised. And disappointed. But as my dad said himself, the competition was fierce, and we wish the remaining contestants all the best. ❤️ And while he won’t be the next Voice of Logan, I think we should acknowledge what an incredible accomplishment this has been. More than anything, I’m grateful for this entire experience. What an absolute antic this has been for me and my dad! From filming his audition to watching him go viral, answering your questions, and introducing him to an entirely new community of people who seem to love him as much as I do. And selfishly, as I reflect on all of this, there’s something pretty special about knowing I get to keep my dad’s voice (and my mom’s, too) a little closer to my heart. Because while he won’t be the Voice of Logan, he and my mom have been the voices of my entire life. A life spent almost entirely here in Massachusetts. And I wouldn’t trade those voices for anything. ❤️ Thank you to everyone who cheered him on. You’ve given our family some wonderful memories. Love you, Daddy. So proud of you. You all recently fell in love with my dad, “Waltah” … And I thought you should know a little more about why we love him so much. ❤️ First, I have to say how incredibly humbled and grateful I am by the amount of love my dad has received since his Voice of Logan audition with @flylogan . We’re still waiting to hear if he made the top five, but regardless of what happens, this whole experience has meant so much to both of us. Because the truth is, the “Waltah” you’ve seen in these videos is exactly who he is. Boston through and through. Proud BC grad. Wicked Boston accent. And the absolute BEST dad and Papa our family could ever ask for. But if I had to describe my dad in two words, they would be love and laughter. Swipe through these pictures and you’ll see what I mean. 😂 My parents recently celebrated 55 years of marriage, and my dad said something the other day about my mom being the love of his life. After all these years, they still make each other laugh. And I think growing up watching their relationship shaped so much of what I value in my own life. I don’t think I fully appreciated when I was younger how much of what I loved about my dad I would eventually look for in a partner. But here I am, married to Chris, who makes me laugh every single day and makes me feel loved and supported in so many of the same ways. And now we get to raise our three kids surrounded by all of this love and laughter, with a Papa who is usually right in the middle of both. ❤️ So while we wait to see what happens with the Voice of Logan contest, I wanted to share a little more of the Walter we’ve been lucky enough to know and love all these years. Thank you for loving him too. I never expected a video of my 78-year-old dad auditioning for an airport announcement job to bring so many people into our lives, but I’m so glad I shared him with you. Some days, the hardest part isn’t the work itself … it’s the transition. The moment you sit in the driveway, taking that deep breath, knowing you have to shift gears from meetings and emails to dinner and bedtime routines. 🙃 No matter how exhausted I am, I remind myself … my kids don’t need perfection. They just need me. And somehow, when I step inside and see their little faces light up (most of the time 😂), I find the energy I thought I didn’t have. To every working mom out there, I see you.
